Requirements for gain-staging

• Your monitoring level is your main point of reference
• Understanding of the individual processors’ gain structure
  • Their different thresholds for signal saturation
  • And their signal waveshaping/coloration
• Understanding the difference between peak levels and average energy levels (RMS or LUFS)
