What if this was easy?

I don’t half-ass things. Because I’m a perfectionist I’m a value-driven person. To overcome my tendency of using about everything as excuse to learn something, I ask myself:

“What if doing this was easy?”, “What would be the simplest way to get this done?”

To provide a recent example:

I suck at javascript. And needed to write some code for the Cookie Notice around here. Of course I started searching online for examples. Two hours in, I tried several things. None worked, and I wasn’t able to figure out why.

“What if this was easy?”, “What prevents me from trying a ML co-pilot for this?”

So, I gave a machine learning co-pilot a try. Provided the framework of code I was working with, as well as a solution I was trying to implement. And got a working result, along with a very detailed explanation.

Otherwise I might have thrown the task back on my to-do list. From where it’d have haunted me.
