About feeling lost in music production

Music production exposes natures' most complex system (our brain) to a clash of intertwined, correlating, co-depending, and each in their own right highly complex and dynamic systems: analysing, arranging, creating, composing, feeling, learning, listening, mixing, mastering, mood-setting, playing, recording, strategizing, sampling, singing, sound design, timing...

Producing is an act of reducing complexity through decision-making to emerge some kind of structure out the chaos of endless possibility (aka nothing).

If you think about it, refining a despicable sound signature in such a complex mess, demands perseverance to push one's frustration tolerance to the next level. Again, and again, and again. Because even the simplest act of 'making this louder' implies dealing with the counter-intuitive logarithmic nature of decibels.

Music production is poor man's fcking rocket science. *How can one not feel lost every now and then?**
